Being an “artsy” kid growing up on a farm in western Canada instilled in me (from an early age) a passionate desire to avoid hard physical labor.

Which is why, at 17 years old, I was excited to discover sales.

(My first job in high school was selling vacuum cleaners door to door).

It was like magic.

I could simply talk to people and make money, (I was making 3-5x what my friends were taking home – without handling a shovel or taking orders for french fries)…

I dedicated myself to mastering the art of persuasion and have never looked back.

Coming from a family of entrepreneurs, I purchased my first business at the tender age of 23.

It was a sign shop, and for my $1,500 investment I got some paint, a stack of plywood and a collection of brushes.

I spent a year learning the art of hand lettering signs and dealing with business owners.

It was my first taste of marketing. (These business owners were coming to me to design signs that would attract new customers).

And I LOVED it.

After buying my first computer and equipment to cut vinyl letters, my business evolved to include graphic design.

And when the dot-com boom hit in the late 90’s…

I took my design skills, taught myself web development and programming and started a website company.

I did web projects with several fortune 500 clients before realizing I was on the wrong path.

You see, in the mid 90’s I’d discovered Jay Abraham and he rocked my world.

In 2001, after an exhausting 18-month web development contract finally came to a close…

I took my savings of $5,000 and went to a Jay Abraham seminar in Los Angeles.

Upon returning from that weekend, I couldn’t sleep.

I knew helping entrepreneurs with their marketing was what I was here to do.

I shut down my web development company overnight and started doing marketing consulting for local brick and mortar companies.

Going door-to-door talking to business owners, I quickly learned that “marketing advice” was hard to sell.

However, business owners were happy to pay me to DO the marketing work for them.

In 2001 I also discovered copywriting (via John Carlton’s “Kick-Ass Copywriting Secrets of a Marketing Rebel” which I paid $1,500 for hot off the presses) and have invested heavily in developing this vital skill ever since.

My background in design, websites and copy allowed me to understand emerging marketing technology and I put together some of the first “funnels” for my clients.

In 2007 I launched my first personal offer in the golf niche, selling $800,000 worth of DVD’s in 9 months.

This lead me to Jeff Walker and his Product Launch Formula.

When Jeff offered to teach a few of us how to run product launches, I jumped in with both feet and went through his Platinum Product Launch Manager training.

After running launches for a few years, I got burned out and became more and more focused on developing evergreen funnels for my clients.

Then in 2015 I spent a year running an agency with Ryan Levesque (ASK Method founder).

I have built sales funnels and consulted with 7, 8 and 9 figure companies (including leading an internal growth team at industry giant Agora Financial).

However – instead of being content building funnels…

I kept hearing from clients about the struggles and poor results they were having with traffic agencies.

There was a gap in the market for a copy-centric media buying agency and I started TrafficCraft in 2017.

After focusing separately on funnels and then traffic, I decided it was time to bring those services together under one roof.

Along with my partners, I launched GrowFast Marketing as a full-service agency, giving our clients end-to-end strategy, funnel development, traffic, and the data and analytics needed to quickly scale.

Outside of marketing, I’ve painted custom motorcycles, and even spent a few years as a professional hypnotherapist.

I have 3 wonderful grown kids and have been married to the love of my life for 25 years.

In a world of “niches” and “specialists” – I’ve embraced my place as a marketing generalist, with a wide range of experiences to draw on for my clients.

And with the help of my amazing team, I love using my skills to help entrepreneurs reach their full potential in business.

If you’re looking for someone to help you take your business to the next level, lets talk.

Best regards,

Kory Basaraba
